Did anyone actually miss Cameron?
5x17 The Social Contract -- and as the title says it was a Cameron-free episode. We did get a scene where House and Chase got to actually talk to one another. Chase I miss but he needs to shave and cut his hair, and maybe shower from the look of it - a grunge doctor doesn't work for me.
The patient of the week, Nick (Jay Karnes) has a condition that makes him say everything he thinks with no ability to filter anything out. He says what he thinks - just like House - the difference is that House doesn't have this medical condition. Nick is married with a small child and even though the relationship is challenged by this condition, his wife is still there supporting him. Not too different from the way that Cuddy supports House just minus the relationship, for now. House made sure Cuddy got a chance to get Nick'd - and she knew why - House couldn't tell her directly but she knew just the same. I do wish we'd seen more of Cuddy, though.
The B-Story took us back to an episode of House from way back. Then it was a line about Wilson's brother being missing. We also learned that House is the person that brought Wilson to Princeton-Plainsboro. Of course there was game playing and misdirection from Wilson, and this time he included Taub - which lead to some great comedy relief. Wilson house located his brother and chose not to tell House - did he not want to hear the truth from House? The one thing you can count on with House is that he is always wiling to share is opinions. Maybe Wilson wanted to believe that everything would be all right with his brother but things don't work out that simply - not in real life and certainly not on television - where is the drama in that?
I enjoyed the episode - I like seeing the dynamics between House and Wilson and House and Cuddy...and this week we even got some new dynamics with House and Taub.
