As if the beleaguered Dallas Cowboys needed any more distractions, Michael Irvin along with Spike network has announced a reality show to win a spot on the Cowboy’s training camp roster.

Irvin said the show will take 12 aspiring football players, six receivers and six defensive backs from the ‘coulda, woulda, shoulda’ school of hard knocks and let them compete, ala American Idol, for the coveted 80-man training camp roster.

And yes, team owner Jerry Jones will be one of the judges among other personalities from the world of football.

The reality series was created by Irvin and his company, Playmaker Productions. Irvin, a Hall of Fame receiver, said contestants are being selected by football ability as well as their back stories.

We all know the guy who coulda been a college star, woulda been a grid iron great and shoulda done great things in life if only his football career had been allowed to develop. Now it appears he may just get the chane, albeit for only a week, to play with the big boys.
