Record Breaking Regis & Kelly
It’ll be another history-making week on “LIVE! with Regis and Kelly” as the popular morning talk show once again joins with Guinness World Records to present GUINNESS WORLD RECORD BREAKER WEEK, September 14-18, 2009.
All week long, “LIVE” and Guinness World Records will feature a wide range of incredible record-breaking attempts to celebrate the launch of the 2010 edition of the Guinness World Records book. This year’s offerings are a diverse and entertaining collection of feats:
Monday: World-renowned contortionist LESLIE TIPTON of San Francisco, Calif. will attempt to bend and twist herself into the record book for “Fastest Time to Get Into a Suitcase and Zip It,” currently set at 7.08 seconds.
Tuesday: Phoenix, Arizona radio personality MATT MCALLISTER tries to recapture the record for “Most T-Shirts Worn.” As the previous record holder, with 155 shirts worn, he was surpassed in August of 2008, and now must top the existing mark of 227 shirts.
Wednesday: WIM HOF, aka The Iceman, will defy medical science as he submerges himself in an ice-filled tank to break his record for “Longest Full Body Ice Contact,” currently standing at one hour, 42 minutes and 22 seconds.
Thursday: The craziest – and tastiest – record of the week, as hundreds of men and women try to smash the mark for “Largest Custard Pie Fight." As an added bonus, a very worthy cause will benefit from Thursday’s attempt: for every pie thrown, $10 will be donated to the Meals On Wheels Association of America (MOWAA), the oldest and largest national organization in the United States representing those programs that provide meals to people in need.
Friday: GUINNESS WORLD RECORD BREAKER WEEK comes to a close with a new record attempt for the book: BRYAN BERG of Santa Fe, New Mexico and the Cardstacker.com website, will construct the highest tower of cards in one hour using simple playing cards without the help of adhesives.
